Pumpkin Carving

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

Went to the pumpkin patch to search for a gorgeous pumpkin to carve.

None were worth paying for! The cheapest was like 10 dollars and they all had some sort of blemish on them. So we decided to go to Winn Dixie and get a pretty one for only 3 dollars!!

All the pumpkin slime went into this pumpkin tin!

Here's my pumpkin all lit up at night! I decided to do a deer with some birds flying out of his mouth. HAHA!

And here is my pumpkin sitting next to Zack's! He carved a cool graveyard scene!

I love the shadows of the trees! I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween tomorrow!!

Cupcake Monday: Spiderweb Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes

Monday, October 29, 2012

I decided it was time for some more fall cupcakes!

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

                                       Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
                                                           3/4 teaspoon baking powder
                                                           3/4 teaspoon baking soda
                                                           1/4 teaspoon salt
                                                           1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
                                                           1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled slightly
                                                           1 cup sugar
                                                           1 cup canned pumpkin
                                                           3 large eggs

Frosting:     1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
6 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
                                                         1 teaspoon vanilla extract
                                                         3 cups powdered sugar

Spiderweb:     1/4 cup of cream cheese frosting
                                                        1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
                                                        1 teaspoon whole milk

Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and ginger into a medium bowl and set aside.

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on low-medium speed, beat the melted butter, sugar , and pumpkin until smoothly blended. Then, mix in the eggs.

Fill each paper liner with a generous scoop of batter, to about 1/2 inch below the top of the liner. Bake just until the tops feel firm and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. About 25 minutes.

While they're cooling, you can make the frosting!

For the frosting: In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on low speed, beat the butter, cream cheese, and vanilla until smooth and thoroughly blended, about 1 minute. Stop the mixer and scrape the sides of the bowl as needed during mixing. Add the powdered sugar, mixing until smooth, then beat on medium speed for 1 minute to lighten the frosting further. For the spiderweb, mix 1/4 cup of the cream cheese frosting with the cinnamon and milk. Then put it in a piping bag and make 3 little circles on the top and use a toothpick to make lines through it.

And we're done! They have a really nice spiced flavor! I hope everyone had a nice Monday!

Nails : Keroppi

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

These nails were inspired by Keroppi! For those of you who don't know who he is, he's one of Hello Kitty's friends! For those of you who don't know who Hello Kitty is, YOU'RE MISSING OUT!

First, choose 3 shades of green and a base coat. You'll also need these nail guide stickers. (I will post a link of where you can find these below).

Then, put 1-2 coats of whatever color you want in the center. MAKE SURE THEY DRY COMPLETELY. This is important.

Then, place the strip on your hand before you put it on the nail so it isn't like super sticky to where it will peel the paint off. After that, put it in the center of the nail and press down so that there aren't any gaps. Paint the top part of the nail a different color.

Then paint the bottom half a different color and let it dry for a minute before slowly peeling off the sticker. Once they have completely dried, put a clear top coat on.

And we're done! My nails need some maintenance otherwise the stripes would have looked more straight haha! I need to file them. Oh and by the way, my blog template cuts off my pictures, so if you want to see them bigger, just click on them!

My Day In Pictures

Saturday, October 20, 2012

I'm babysitting my brother's dawg, Pudge!

Zack got a fire started to burn some yard trash and the smoke looked cool with the sun's rays!

Pulled back some bark on a dead tree and found all sorts of stuff! These beetles were sneaky and there were tons!

This little gecko was under the bark too, along with some nasty grubs and termites.

Had a fantastic lunch! Greek Pizza : Kalamata olives, mozzarella, feta, tomato, spinach, and EGGPLANT. WUT.

MY BABY LOVES TO GET ON THE FRIDGE NOW. AW. He was putting on the charm..such a model.

After lunch, we went to the big antique store in High Springs and saw all sorts of cool junk! Look at all of these Barbies. Oh man!

Look how scary this dummy is.

I don't know what this is, I think it's a pot, but it has mushrooms on it so i'm sold.

Now i'm in my night clothes ready to watch something scary! Good night everyone!

What I Was Up To This Weekend

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

This weekend was pretty busy! But nonetheless, SUPER fun. Friday, I went to Zack's little sister's talent show. It was really funny because, well, it was just a bunch of little kid's singing songs off key and doing other random things. His sister was really cute though, of course. She did this skit where she was a mime and it was adorable. Oh and I forgot! Before that, we tried out this new restaurant in High Springs and it wasn't good at all! Hahaha! Saturday was so much fun. A big group of us went to Eerie Acres that night. We had to split up in groups of four so it would be much more scary, and it definitely was. My group was the last to go and I guess the group ahead of me said my name or something so when we were walking through the woods, one of the scary people kept calling my name and kept saying "Im waiting for you Beth". Definitely a nice affect. The scariest part was probably when we had to walk through a bus and at the end when this really crazy redneck guy chased us with a chainsaw. But getting cornered by a clown in the fun house is pretty up there on my scary list as well.

On Sunday, I decided that my room needed some fall decorations so I went exploring and found some really pretty things.

I found this little guy in perfect condition on the sidewalk. I picked him up and realized he was still alive - but barely. :( He looks really pretty in my room though!

This is at my desk by my computer.

I really like the way it looks at night and the glow the candle gives off. This candle makes my room smell like a coffee shop.

Yesterday, Zack got me this amazing necklace! It's a bird skull! How cool is that!?

We also saw Band of Horses!

I am so so so sosoosso happy that I got to see them. They were amazing live! The background that they had was really cool, it was just like bare looking woods.

And of course I had to wear my new shirt to class today. I hope everyone is having a fabulous Tuesday!

Explorin' After Sunset.

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Today I went out around sunset and explored some woods with my camera! Im kind of in love with the colors in this picture. The sky was GORGEOUS.

For some reason, I really love taking up close pictures of plants.

It's amazing what kind of things you will find when you look closely! This little guy was hiding.

So was he! And he is so adorable sitting there upside down!

Look at the beautiful sheep that were in a field nearby! They look like little old ladies! Awwww.

Today went pretty well. I didn't want to go to class but I did, and this guy in my class brought me candy! That was sweet. Aaaand yesterday, SOMEONE (aka Zack) bought me the very thing I have been wanting!

DUN DUNNA NUHHH!!! (That's a trumpet presenting my makeup) The Urban Decay Vice Palette! I am so excited and happy. The colors are so beautiful AND this is a limited edition! So this isn't always gonna be around. Ahhh I am so happy and I cannot WAIT to use that electric blue as a winged eyeliner! Have a good rest of the day! I think I am probably going to watch a scary movie since it's October and that's what this month is all about!
